- 1853
- The first Anglican service held in courthouse, in Old Town, by The Rev. John Reynolds, chaplain, U.S. Army, July 10 (court house has recently been rebuilt in same location).
- 1854
- The Rt. Rev. William Kip, first bishop of California reads his first service in California in the courtroom, Old Town, Sunday, Jan. 22
- 1869
- Holy Trinity, Sixth and C (first parish)
- 1882
- St. Matthew’s, National City (oldest parish worshiping in original building)
- 1885
- Holy Trinity was renamed St. Paul’s; 100 years later it became The Cathedral Church of St. Paul
