Qualifications and Vision:  As an active parishioner at All Souls’ for thirty years, and a delegate to Diocesan Convention six times, I believe I have a good understanding of how our diocese perceives its ministries.  It is my desire to take what I have learned from my past experiences and work to promote the diocese on two levels.  First, at the local level to assist the Bishop in his ministries to parishes and missions and to the diocese as a whole.  Secondly, to give our diocese a broader role in both the national church and the world wide Anglican Communion so we may continue to serve Christ in all persons.  Should I be elected, I would be honored to serve our diocese in this capacity.

Qualifications and Vision:  His thirty-five years in parish ministry include fifteen years serving on boards charged with managing financial assets.  He will be a responsible and forward-looking steward of diocesan resources, both financial resources and real property.  He envisions the diocese growing into its strategic plan as we all live up to the Baptismal Covenant.  Fred considers it vital that we manage assets in such a way that they will be strong resources for sustaining and extending our ministries in the future.  Paraphrasing Harvey Cox, he says, “It is vital that we see the past and the present I light of a future horizon.”

Qualifications and Vision: Tim, a cradle Episcopalian, has significant experience in managing financial challenges and the development and implementation of growth strategies in both the corporate and ecclesiastical world.  He also has strong organization leadership skills honed in his corporate career as a senior executive with both Sony Electronics Inc. and Cymer, Inc. Tim has been heavily involved with the Budget and Finance Ministry at St Andrew's, Encinitas for nearly 10 years, a time period in which the congregation and it's operation budget more than doubled in size.  In that role, he helped lead a successful capital campaign, restructure the church’s debt, deliver realistic balanced budgets, and establish an annual audit program with an outside auditor.  In 2009, he was asked to join the Diocese’s Development Task Force, and is now hoping he can further assist in the long term health and development of the San Diego Diocese by serving as a Director of the Diocesan Corporation.

Qualifications and Vision: I am a realtor engaged primarily in residential and some commercial sales throughout the metro San Diego area.  I have been licensed in either California or New York for over 38 years.  I have previously worked in the risk management field involved in loss prevention, media relations, captive insurance companies, etc.  I have enjoyed extensive not-for-profit involvement, serving as a local and national officer of several organizations with an emphasis on staff management, finance, strategic planning and leadership training. Other local volunteer work has included hospice volunteer, fund raising for KPBS Producers Club, food for shut-ins programs and arts support groups.  My vision would be to apply my skills and experience on behalf of the immediate financial health of the diocese; ensure the maintenance of our corporate documents and status, protect and enlarge our assets; properly manage bequests; guide a prudent plan of risk avoidance and insurance coverage, and otherwise offer good counsel to our bishop and others involved in the management of our diocese.

Qualifications and Vision:  Judith has been in this diocese for thirty years, as laity at St. Bartholomew’s from 1979-1990, then in active lay ministries with St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, until seminary in 2002-2005 and return to the diocese.  She served at St. Andrew’s the Apostle Episcopal Church in Encinitas 2005-2006 and was called to St. Bartholomew’s in 2007.  Both as a professional nurse and psychologist, her work has included study and application of group dynamics and conflict resolution, and group work for support and problem-solving. She welcomes an opportunity to serve as a member of this council, with the understanding that its function is the oversight and integration of a variety of diocesan projects.

Qualifications and Vision: I do not think I am any more qualified than any other priest of the Diocese to be a member of the Council.  I do have a different background that might make for a more diverse group, having a doctorate in engineering and twenty-four years corporate experience prior to ordination.  My vision is to assist in overseeing the programs of the Diocese, offering the perspective of an Episcopal priest in Yuma, Arizona.  We are a parish that has endured a split, but has survived for 100 years and expect to be around for another hundred.

Over the years there, I have served two terms on the Vestry and recently was Junior and Senior Warden. My greatest love is serving as a Chalice Bearer. Within the Diocese I serve by providing the psychological evaluations for the candidates for postulancy have served on the Julian’s Anchorage Advisory Board and was appointed to the Search Committee for the Canon to the Ordinary. With the San Diego Psychological Association, I have served on the Ethics Committee and have been Chair of the Professional Practices Committee. Member of Rotary.

Qualifications and Vision: Like the parishes, the Diocese is in a time of challenge with the struggling monetary resources and yet continues need to provide services and stimulate growth. The Episcopal Church is unique in its position of offering the structure and tradition of the liturgy and yet encourages thinking and questioning and has much to offer people in this time of change.  I think I have a talent in planning for the future and seeing possibilities, building on strengths and understanding how systems work.  It is an honor to be considered for this position.

Qualifications and Vision:  My ties to The Bishop’s School run deep—as incumbent and previous Diocesan Trustee, as the parent of two alumnae (one of whom returned after college to teach there for 4 years), and as a member of the Search Committee that selected the new school Head, Aimeclaire Roche.  I believe my long history with the school will be of value during the next few years as the new Head establishes ties to the various school constituencies and the Episcopal Diocese, and so am seeking one final three-year term as the school’s Diocesan Trustee.
