Discovering your Spiritual Gifts – Paul tells us that we can only be the Body of Christ when all the spiritual gifts we have been given are being used to ‘build up the Body of Christ.” So, what are our spiritual gifts? And how can we use them? This is a foundational Stewardship workshop regarding our Gifts for Ministry and how we can put them together to do the Kingdom work that lies ahead of us. This workshop is offered to all congregations of the diocese and is designed for all clergy and lay alike. Cost is $3.50 per person for materials, plus any cost of food, since the seminar is approximately five hours long.
Nurturing Our Generosity – Developing a theology and program for all our Stewardship needs. This seminar is about all the year-round aspects of stewardship: Our Ministries, Financial, Environmental, Personal seasons of Stewardship; our commitment program design and execution, as well as the , development of Stewardship Statements. It is offered at a regional level for Clergy, Wardens and Congregational Stewardship Leaders. When offered at congregation level, it is designed for all congregational leaders and members alike. There is no cost for this seminar except the cost of food, since it is approximately four hours long.
Becoming a Welcoming Church I – In this workshop, we lay a foundational theology for being a place and people of welcome, initiating a strong welcoming ministry, becoming the presence of Christ to our newcomers, and becoming a church with an attitude – The Attitude of Christ. There is no charge for this three hour+ workshop which is available for all congregations of the diocese
Becoming a Welcoming Church II – We discuss the next and more difficult steps, the steps toward transformation, the change of our corporate DNA and the laying of a foundation through our “Core Values” and our Vision, defining and designing a quality system for incorporating our newcomers into the “whole” life of our parish, and how we measure our effectiveness, based on our Values and Vision. There is no cost for this three hour+ workshop which is available to all congregations who have completed BWC I.
Marketing Your Church – For what would you like your church to be known in your community and how to become well known and the center of your community? This two hour workshop is designed to help a congregation develop a “personality” and “image” within its community. It is designed for clergy, congregational leadership and those responsible for ministry development and communications. It is available to all congregations of the diocese. There is no cost for this workshop.
Congregational Leadership Training I– What does it mean to be a leader in your parish? How is church leadership different from what we do in our work-a-day lives? And what does that mean for us as leaders? This one to one and-a-half hour program is an introductory workshop for church leadership teams, i.e., Vestries, Boards of Directors, etc. There is no cost for this workshop. It is available for all congregations and organizations in the diocese.
Congregational Leadership Training II – Defining Our Corporate Values; Casting our Corporate Vision – What defines us as the unique community of faith that God has called us to be? How do we discover what that is and how do we then make that a foundation for everything God is calling us to do? This workshop will lead a Clergy and Vestry team through a process:
1) To define their “Corporate Core Values” (who they really are and what they really believe).
2) To build a Vision that will engage, motivate and mobilize their congregation (so that they might do and be the church they think God is calling them to be).
3) To define their Mission (The roadmap to achieve the Vision from the starting point of today).
There is no cost for this three hour workshop and it is available to all congregations who have completed CLT II.
Congregational Leadership Training III – Building a Long Range that works. The purpose of this workshop is to assist a leadership team in taking their Mission roadmap and using it to define and design an over all Plan that is comprehensive and achievable, supports their Core Values, accomplishes their Vision, and stretches them to become more than they have ever been. This is no cost for this three hour workshop and it is available to all congregations who have completed CLT I and II.
